In the post genomic era, proteomics has become a fast-growing and important field in biological research. The rapid advancement of protein separation techniques and mass spectrometry, as well as protein quantification approaches greatly promotes the proteomics research. With the establishment of 2-dimensional liquid chromatography - mass spectrometry (2-D LCMS), we are able to achieve high-throughput, sensitive and accurate protein identification. The coupling of LCMS with isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation (iTRAQ) allows us to quantitatively compare proteome profiles of multiple samples (up to eight) all at once. In this presentation, I will showcase the application of these proteomics technologies in marine and environmental research, including protein profiling of shrimp white spot syndrome virus (WSSV), euryhaline fish and mangrove plant, as well as green algae exposure to pesticide, etc.
报告人简介:
Dr. Lin completed his Doctor of Philosophy(PhD) degree in 2002 from University of Toronto, then he worked as Research Fellow from 2002 to 2007. Later he worked as Assistant Professor in Dept. of Biological Sciences at National University of Singapore. His research interests are mainly on Mass Spectrometry Applications in different fields.
